west end wednesday

first day of sightseeing for will in london
we hit up the eye, county hall, big ben and houses of parliament
then headed over to buckingham palace for changing of the guard
back over to whitehall to see trafalgar square and national portrait gallery
before taking a break for lunch at japan centre
then we headed past piccadilly circus up regents street
where we spent an hour in hamley's toy shop :)
after that we just tooled around carnaby street and oxford street
then china town for a bubble tea break
and a peek in the giant m&m store on our way past leicester square
where we saw them setting up the red carpet for the premier of the new alan partridge film
then we went to forbidden planet (best book shop in london)
and then via covent garden before heading home to change

for the evening we went out for thai at a restaurant in soho for dinner
then got to ronnie scott's, the famous jazz club
where we went to the upstairs bar, since the main event downstairs was sold out!
and sat for a few hours talking, drinking, and listening to jazz

all in all a pretty good day i would say!
