a novel by Kazuo Ishiguro
and also a film, i recently found out
with Andrew Garfield, Kiera Knightly, and Carey Mulligan
as well as a cast of others that i recognised from some other recent shows
it was such a strange, and disturbing book
that i wanted to see what other people thought of it
it takes places at an english boarding school
and you realise something isn't quite right
but you can't put your finger on it right away
and then once you begin to understand
why these children are there
it still doesn't make sense
it's this dystopian world of sadness
children being brought up in a sheltered environment
as if it's going to protect them from what their true purpose is
like lying to them is going to make it any easier
...
it's worth reading
and the film is worth a watch as well
although it doesn't go into near as much detail as the book
it conveys the mood perfectly
i quite like the soundtrack too
