christmas time

well

what can i say

i have come to hate you

which is a bit sad really

i don't want to take away for other peoples joy of the holiday season

but really

i hate it

lets talk about waste

mass produced plastic stuff

wrapping paper, ribbons, etc

gifts people don't want

gift that come packaged in 1,000 layers of wrap

or have zip ties and tape galore

just waste

massive waste

stuff that gets chucked in the bin

and then sits in a landfill for years and years to come

then trees, baubles, fairy lights

all this stuff people use to decorate with

how much of it gets kept and re-used

and how much gets tossed

since so many people see it as cheap and replaceable?

unwanted gifts!

how many people do you feel pressure to buy for?

and why? because society dictates you give co-workers, best customers, etc a gift?

you don't even know these people half the time, why are you spending money on something that they most likely won't use or need in the first place?

there is the saying- it was the thought that counts

but what good is a thought when our landfills are overflowing and it is going to be 100's of years before all this shite decomposes or breaks back down into the earth

not ever, for somethings even...
